Text description provided by the architects. The location of the project is within a suburban residential area.
This project has taken the opportunity to reinterpret the housing landscape with an environmentally conscious design and responsive approach to durability.
From the facade to the interiors and even the furniture, the association of design and durability is prevalent and forms the basic canvas around which we have developed our cutting edge design.
The association of biometric and climatic efficiencies blend to provide a state of the art solution using the building aspects to drive the internal comfort regulation.
This is highlighted by the exposition of the reception and offices to the North, to encourage development of the main activity zones to the the South. Comfort is maintained by the introduction of sunshades to control any solar gain. Two external patios provide a conduit for ventilating the spaces at night, electronically controlled to maximise efficiency.
The sloped interior ceilings converge at the building's apex to give drama and interest to the interior design. The building is constructed using a timber frame facade , inertia and acoustic performance are provided by the masonry internal partitions, with watertightness guaranteed by the incorporation of a waterproofing membrane.
